Children’s Sermon:

Prelude:

Sermon:

St. Alban’s Family: Yes, you read that subject line correctly: “Sermons” is plural.  There is no gospel reading for today, because the chalicist, who would normally record it, was doubling as one of the acolytes assisting at the gospel reading.  However, this second week of a sermon series on the book of Jonah includes a children’s sermon — and a sermon prelude with (befitting the Jonah story) a lost-and-found theme — in addition to the sermon.

For 2023 (year A), the readings for the 17th Sunday after Pentecost (Proper 20) are:

OT Lesson Jonah 3:10-4:11
Psalm Psalm 145:14-21 (Coverdale)
NT Lesson Philippians 1:21-27
Gospel Matthew 20:1-16
